Why We Love Carthage
Carthage is the county seat for Hancock County, Illinois and this charming city has a deep and rich history. The Kibbe Museum features exhibits covering life in the area from the frontier days through to the early 20th century. It is a great place to learn about and enjoy local history. History enthusiasts will also enjoy a visit to the Carthage Jail, the Hancock County Courthouse, and the Legacy Theater.
For those who like the outdoors, Carthage Lake and The Jaycee Park offer hiking, swimming, disc golf, and camping. If you have children, no visit to Carthage is complete without going to the World of Wonders Park. This centrally located playground is 10,000 square feet of slides, mazes, swings, and structures built by the local community. Everywhere you go in Carthage, you will find evidence of community involvement, and we at Mr. K’s Fabric Shop are happy to be part of that community.

The staff is very helpful, but not pushy. I would definitely give the entire crew 5 stars. I have worked with them six different times and have been completely satisfied each time. From window treatments to cushions to reupholstering deck furniture, they have always made a quality product.
Mr. K’s installed 5 new designer roller shades with 8” fabric valance and powerview. HunterDouglas powerview shades are life changing! Two of our shades allow some light in, three are light blocking. Jennifer came to the house with swatches of the different fabrics and gave me great advice on color coordinating. Tim did an outstanding job on the installation. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. I will purchase from them again.
Mr. K’s Fabric Shop recovered the seats of our church pews and reupholstered 3 chairs. They did an excellent job, and got it done in a timely manner. It looks beautiful and is a welcome addition to our church. Jennifer consulted with us on what we wanted and made sure it all came together. We would recommend Mr. K’s Fabric Shop.
We built our house 3 years ago and Mr. K’s has been one of our favorite businesses to work with as we turn our new house into a home! With Jennifer’s help and guidance we have found the perfect window coverings for every window in our home. Their wonderful seamstress has also made cushions for three different window seats and they all turned out beautifully. One of our favorite projects they helped us with was reupholstering four chairs for a game table that was passed down to us from my husband’s grandparents. The quality of their work is phenomenal! Tim, who has installed every window covering and delivered all of our window cushions and chairs, is so wonderful! He is kind, courteous, professional, and does a fantastic job at installation! We appreciate Jennifer, Tammy, Tim, and all of the staff at Mr. K’s! We would definitely recommend them to anyone - their customer service is truly the best!
