Innovative Technologies for Interior Shutters
Plantation interior shutters are a classic choice for residential window treatments; both their construction and their aesthetic have a traditional feel, though both also have a valuable place in the modern world. Hunter Douglas has three types of plantation-style interior shutters: Heritance® Hardwood Shutters, Palm Beach™ Shutters, and NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters. All three types of interior shutters come in a variety of colors, both stains, and paints, and can be fabricated with different louver sizes from 2.5 inches to 4.5 inches wide. But beyond aesthetic customizations, Hunter Douglas shutters house a range of state-of-the-art upgrades that make their interior shutters more user-friendly and stylish.
PowerView® Automation
Available on the Palm Beach™ style of an interior shutter, PowerView® Automation is Hunter Douglas’s premier motorized operating system. Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutters upgraded with PowerView® Automation not only have more precise control, but they also have more convenient control. PowerView® Automation can be operated via a hand-held remote control or mounted wall unit for easy accessibility, it can also be controlled from a smartphone or tablet using the PowerView® app, or lastly, it can be synced with smart home systems for fully integrated control.
SoftClose™ Louvers
NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters from Hunter Douglas are available with SoftClose™ Louvers. This proprietary system adds grace and precise control for interior shutters that are easier to maneuver with pinpoint accuracy. The SoftClose™ system for shutters is similar to the soft-close feature of high-end kitchen cabinetry and drawers in that its mechanisms control movement for smooth closing that needs little force to operate optimally. This innovative feature is also available with Quick Align™ that has five preset positions to make aligning several shutters across a room easy and exact.

Heritance® Hardwood Shutters
Integra™ Finish: This finish was formulated with easy care in mind. The high-luster finish is achieved using a multi-coat process that also makes a very durable final coating that’s easy to clean and requires minimal care throughout the life of the shutter.
Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ Shutters
DuraLux™ Finish: To create the look and feel of expertly painted real wood interior shutters, the DuraLux™ Finish from Hunter Douglas utilizes a soft, matte finish.
NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters
Finetech® Finish: Real wood shutters have an organic warmth and natural character that is recreated in hybrid shutters using the Finetech® low-luster finish.
UltraGrain™: For ultra-realistic wood grain patterns, no finish outdoes UltraGrain™ from Hunter Douglas for the beautiful look of authentic hardwood.
